Gabriela Muresan, Director and Lead Teacher
I have been involved in teaching since 1987. I grew up in Romania, and I reside in United States since 1995. I taught in public school system for four years until 1991. I enrolled in the Waldorf Teacher Training Program in Bucharest, and graduated in 1992. I have been involved in Waldorf Education ever since. I opened the first Waldorf class in my home town and after three years of teaching, my husband and I came to the United States through the Visa Lottery Program. I enrolled again in the Waldorf Early Childhood Education program, and I graduated in May 1996. We moved to Atlanta in 1997.
I opened a home daycare, continuing to apply Waldorf philosophy. I taught for seven years the parent toddler program at the Waldorf School of Atlanta two days a week. In 2005 I relocated closer to the Waldorf School, and I continued my daycare. In 2013, I graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. From August 2015 until June 2019 I worked at the Waldorf School of Atlanta as the afternoon kindergarten teacher. I also continued to work at the school as a Morning Garden teacher on Fridays.
I live in Decatur, near the Waldorf School, with my husband. Both my children attended the Waldorf School and presently they are pursuing college education in Romania.
I love being outdoors, I enjoy watching nature's transformations everywhere. I love to spend time both in the mountains and at the ocean. In my spare time I knit, paint, read and enjoy cooking.
Being with children is a constant inspiration that gives my life purpose and makes my heart rejoice.
